The Changing of the Seasons

Yesterday’s post featured 5 quotes to celebrate Fall. While looking up quotes, I came upon one from Yoko Ono that I thought appreciated each season’s unique qualities:

“Spring passes and one remembers one’s innocence,

Summer passes and one remembers one’s exuberance.

Autumn passes and one remembers one’s reverence.

Winter passes and one remembers one’s perseverance.”

Yoko Ono

As summer changes into fall, there is a feeling of reverence in the air – a time to honour the magnificent transformation that nature creates in preparation for winter, a quieter time at the feeders as the migration of many birds has started, a stillness in the cool morning air. We can also feel it within ourselves as we prepare ourselves and our homes for the colder days. Let us enjoy this time as it is meant to be experienced – with admiration, with esteem, with reverence.
